Approving changes

Choose whether Luria waits for your approval, see what is waiting, and roll anything back.

plain textupdated 2026-08-19

Luria ships with Approve first switched on, so nothing reaches your visitors until you say yes. This page covers where that setting lives, how to see what is waiting, and how approvals work today.

What you'll need

  • Access to your dashboard at luriart.com/app.
  • Your email client, for the approval itself (see step 3).

Steps

Step 1: Pick how Luria applies changes

Open the Pages tab. The first card is "How Luria applies changes" with two buttons:

  • Approve first (the default): "Every change waits for your one-click approval before going live."
  • Autonomous: "Luria applies and promotes winners on its own, everything stays reversible."

The hint under the heading always tells you which mode you are in. Your choice saves as soon as you tap it.

Step 2: See what is waiting

The status pill at the top right of the dashboard counts your queue. When you come back after a while it reads like "Since you were last here: 5 conversions won, 2 tests promoted, 1 awaiting your approval".

The My Site tab lists the same items in full. Every change waiting on you shows the status "pending approval" in its row.

Step 3: Approve a specific change

There is no Approve button in the dashboard yet. Approvals are handled with Luria: email hello@luriart.com naming the change (the date, the page and the "what" text from the My Site row) and say yes or no. Luria applies your decision and the row's status moves to live or rejected.

If you would rather not review each change, switch the Pages card to Autonomous. Everything stays reversible either way.

Step 4: Roll back anything you don't like

Every row in "What we've changed so far" carries a Roll back button. Rollback is handled the same way as approvals today: email hello@luriart.com with the row and it is reverted. A rolled back change stops serving within about 60 seconds and stays in the list with the status "rolled back", so your history is never rewritten.

Pausing everything

There is no site-wide pause toggle in the dashboard. To stop all serving, email hello@luriart.com and Luria pauses the site; variants stop within about 60 seconds and your pages go back to normal. On Shopify you can do the same yourself: Online Store, Themes, Customize, App embeds, switch Luria off, Save.

Measurement is separate from serving. Pausing stops changes; your events, conversions and dashboard keep working.

Verify it worked

  • The Pages card shows your chosen mode highlighted, with the matching hint text.
  • On My Site, an approved change reads "live" and a reverted one reads "rolled back".
  • Load the page in a private window with ad blockers off. An approved change should be visible within about a minute.

Common failures

  • Changes sit at "pending approval" forever. That is Approve first doing its job. Approve them by email, or switch to Autonomous.
  • You approved a change and nothing serves. Check the status pill. If it says "Free limit reached", your first 5 free attributed conversions are used and variants are paused until you upgrade. See Plans and metering.
  • You are in Autonomous but still see nothing. Serving may be off: the Shopify embed switched off, or the Data Processing Terms not yet approved in the app. Work through No variants serving.
  • You want a change type never touched again. Switch its chip off under "What Luria may touch" on the Pages tab. Checkout legal text, privacy and terms pages, and prices without approval are always off and cannot be switched on.
